Shuwen Li
Shuwen is a rotating PhD student in the Holly Lab. Graduated from the University of Iowa with a B.S. in Neuroscience, she developed a strong interest in studying psychiatric conditions with animal models during her two years in the Pignatelli Lab at Washington University in St. Louis as a Research Technician, where she was introduced to techniques such as optogenetics and chemogenetics to investigate the underlying mechanisms of ketamine's therapeutic effect at the neural circuit level. She gained a better understanding of rodent learning and memory models and in vivo electrophysiology during her master's level training at Concordia University in Montreal. Currently, Shuwen is working on developing a virtual T-maze task that orchestrates tracking of neural and behavioral activities with different temporal and spatial resolutions. In her free time, Shuwen enjoys bouldering, sewing, drawing, and spending quality time with her friends.
